Len Russ In Switzerland
Switzerland

Hi guys,
I am sitting in Nice, France and have finally found a cheap internet cafe with a working usb port - YEAH!! enjoy the photos.
Tuesday 7 Aug 2006 - Lauterbrunnen Switzerland
Arrived in switzerland to a nice rainy reception. Luckily the last camping group had left us there tents so excellent.
Unpacked and bought some post cards then found shower. Our campsite was right in the bottom of a valley within the little village of Lauterbrunnen. Because of the rain it was a little misty and couldn´t really see the peaks covered in snow.
You could still see the waterfalls flowing everywhere on both sides of the valley and a river flowing through the town. Bought some nasty beers from the camp reception and headed over to food tent. Red cooked up a feast of chicken snitzel with melted cheese and ham with vegies and gravy. Every meal is always followed by seconds and food being thrown out. I have put on more beef I think from drinking the large beers and the meals we are being fed and sitting my arse on the bus.
After dinner we all went and sat in the laundry and waited for laundry to wash and dry. It was and expensive exercise for on load of washing as it was like a sauna in there and two cold vodka´s later and 10 dollars for a wash and dry and I was done. Really stretching the smell test now. Possibly include socks and jocks in this test if laundry costs are the same through europe.
Had my first tequila beer as mentioned in last log and went to bed.
Wednesday 8 August 2006 -
The group I am travelling with are mostly in their early 20´s, so a bunch of pissheads. Woke up feeling slightly seedy from the night before.
Showered, had breakfast and we all headed through town to the train station to catch a cog work train up to the jufrang or u'frang as we call it. This is the top of europe about 4000 feet above sea level.
Everyone was freezing their arses off but luckily I brought my thermals and cruised around. It was a total whiteout when finally got to the top but there was a little ice palace inside and heaps of cool swiss soveniers. The scenery coming up and down the mountain was more the attraction as it gave you a great view of the valley.
Went back into town and wrote log on paris in little expensive bar as mentioned.
Had dinner of traditional fondue cheese and bread , followed up by a huge sausage and mashed potatoes and peas with cheesecake for desert.
Some of the girls snags were a bit browner and looked like an african man had donated his lower appendage. One of them wouldn't eat it.
Most people went to bed and as I had some francs left I stuck around with the other and drank some tequila beers til my francs ran out.
I remembered dancing with some woman to tutti frutti that night the next day on the bus.
Next day off to avignonne in france.
It is very hard to find the time to update and I am falling behind so I will try to keep updating when I can.
Cheers,
Len
